When I am angry…

Remembering Martin Luther

When I am angry” said Luther, “I can pray well and preach well.” Luther is well known to have been a temperamental person. But how could anger characterise such a great servant of God? Well, it is important to know that when the enemy comes in like a flood God will raise a standard that is equal to the challenge. He will prepare a man with a behaviour, mannerism, and passion that is fit for the purpose. Isaiah proclaimed, “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him” (Isa.59:19). God will always choose a man with a requisite character for the challenge at hand. Today, had we not known the story, we wouldn’t have believed that one man broke down the iron-power of Papal Rome. The man had the message of the hour, and the anointing of the hour!
