Chatama village home outreach programme

Mission report update by Bro. Jesse M. Nzima

Yesterday ( Saturday April 8th) we had another outdoor family outreach meeting in the heart of Chatama village. A couple invited us to their home to come speak with their family and pray for them. They were concerned that all their children ( now grown up) have turned to bad ways. They also invited their neighbours to the meeting.

As usual we visit the people with our fellow brethren in the assembly. The experience has been very helpful for them spiritually.

Singing the song ‘Muzimu Woyera Ndi Moto’ ( The Holy Spirit is the fire that cleanses). When cleansed we can stomp the devil.

This time around I came to the meetings with our twin boys Sibusiso and Sibongiseni (both 10). I have been away from them for three months. I thought it important to have them in the mission field with me while they are on their school holiday so that they can learn the Lord’s ways better. The boys have been very excited and each experience is a learning phase them. This reminds me of what Joshua once said;

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The local children here in the village can’t read besides them being in school. Seeing the boys speak and read English has motivated them to try and put in more effort to improve their literacy. We have also crafted a literacy program where we want to help the young and old alike to learn how to read and those who have been shy have really been motivated to come forward.

We made the most of the opportunity to expound the word of the Lord because we know that some people may not have another chance to hear God’s word.

The people were all attentive and quiet

After the sharing a number of people came forward to request for prayer and counseling. Some came to church today. The family has further requested that we visit them from time time.

Dear saints, kindly remember us in prayer. We are the boots on the ground ( foot soldiers) and you are the men in the air. Together we will reach out to our brothers and sisters who are hungering and waiting for the rescue in Jesus name. Shalom!
